Moving from a negative to a positive transport cycle
Transcript: Oxford is caught in a negative cycle. Cars are the default way to get in and out of Oxford > More traffic > Slower buses, horrible walking and cycling > People see driving as their only option > Cars are the default way to get in and out of Oxford. How do we get into a positive cycle? More people walk, bus, and cycle for some journeys > Less traffic > Faster buses, safer and nicer walking and cycling > People feel like they have other choices than to drive > More people walk, bus, and cycle for some journeys. There isn’t the road space to make faster buses and safer walking and cycling happen first. We instead have to make a change to reduce traffic. Oxford’s traffic filters are this change.
